The post that Donald Trump made might be his most disgusting yet, and it tells you everything you need to know about how his war is going. Donald Trump began his war on Iran, not just on behalf of Benjamin Netanyahu, but also to distract from the Epstein files. Now, those things may overlap because I really do believe that Netanyahu has some of that Epstein dirt on Trump, but there were multiple reasons for Trump doing this. They were all self-centered. They were all to benefit him and to see massive profit and swing in the stock markets. But, of course, Donald Trump wanted a distraction. And now his war has gotten so bad that he needs a distraction from it. And that is what the insane post that he just made was. Not just a distraction, but an attempt to justify, especially after this moment, this morning, in which Donald Trump said one of the biggest lies we've heard about this war. >> What do you say to families of soldiers? When Americans are wrongly against this war, how do you ask that from >> Well, Americans aren't against the war. The a poll a poll just came out. Americans don't want high gasoline prices, but they're not against the war. That just came out loud and clear in a poll. Nobody wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Do you want Iran to have a nuclear weapon? You think it's good? Go ahead. >> Americans do not support Donald Trump's war on Iran. Overwhelmingly, they do not support Donald Trump's war on Iran because why would you? It's on behalf of Israel. It's to distract from the Epstein files. It's so a select few can make a ton of money while everything gets more expensive for us. There is no point to this war. There is no aim to this war. Donald Trump has articulated no reason why this war is continuing. So, who is this magical person who who says is supportive of it? Because before we get to the post, which was also a reaction to that lie, I want to show you the truth of the polling. >> We were talking yesterday. I was curious given that we do appear to be in full-scale fighting again. I wanted to know how do Americans feel about it this time around versus where they were at the beginning. >> Yeah, historically unpopular. That's the phrase that I would use. The war was unpopular to start off with and it's become even less popular. You could see it right here. Okay, Washington Post poll Trump Iran war net approval rating and early marks look at this. It was way down there at minus 13 points. Very rare for a war to start off underwater on the net approval. That is approval minus disapproval. But look at how far down we are now. Right into the Red Sea. 40 points underwater according to the Washington Post poll. Look, I I tried to find every single poll I possibly could. I believe this minus 40 points represents the least popular poll in terms of Trump's net approval rating on the Iran war the entire war so far. So as I said at the beginning, it started off unpopular and now it is even more unpopular. Historically unpopular 40 points underwater. >> Well, since you're talking about history, put this in some historical perspective. >> Yeah, okay. Let's put it in some historical perspective. You think the war has been worth it or not worth it? And why don't we take a look here? We can compare Iran in 2026 to Iraq in 2006. And keep in mind the Iraq war by this point in 2006 at this point in mid-term cycle, it had been going on for 3 years at this point. We're only a few months into this war. Think the war was worth it. Iraq in 2006 58% said it was not worth it. Again, that was 3 years into that war. Look at this now. You think that 58% was high in terms of not worth it? 68% of Americans, more than two in three, say the Iran war was not worth it. Just 28% less than a third of Americans now say the Iran war was worth it. Even less than the 40% who said the Iraq war was worth it. Again, at this point heading into the 2006 mid-term cycle. Of Of we remember what happened in 2006. Republicans lost both the House and the Senate, and at this point, this 28% even lower, and this 68% saying not worth it even higher than the 58% who said this about Iraq 20 years ago. And so, this is a very, very bad number for the president. I think a lot of Republicans in Congress don't like this number one iota. >> No, look, this >> People hate this war. That is the truth. The truth is that people hate this war because they see right through it. They see it as a war conducted on behalf of the Epstein class. They see that Donald Trump doesn't actually care, that he has no regard for truths, that he continues to kill. And by the way, Americans he will kill with the repercussions of this war. We are currently in a cost of living crisis only getting worse. Soon we'll be in an even worse energy crisis, and fertilizer being held up to the Strait of Hormuz means months from now we will be in a food crisis, all because of Donald Trump, and that will cost lives. And what was his reaction? Some idiotic Truth Social posting. I am dead serious when I say this might be the worst post that Donald Trump has ever made. Trump took to Truth Social in an attempt to justify his war on Iran, writing, "Afghanistan, 20 years, 2,000 dead. Iraq, 9 years, 4,600 dead. Vietnam, 19 years, 58,000 dead. Korea, 3 years, 36,000 dead. Venezuela war, 1 day, 0 dead. Iran military conflict." So, he won't even call it a war, 4 months and 18 dead. Now, Donald Trump felt so emphatic about this post that he decided to repost himself. This is one of the grossest justifications I have ever seen for Donald Trump's war, considering we know why we are in this war. And it's not a conflict, by the way. It's a war. You don't just get to call it what you want to try to defend yourself, but we are in this war for one reason alone, and that is because it's what Benjamin Netanyahu wanted. And 18 dead Americans for Israel is too many dead Americans for Israel. We shouldn't be fighting wars on behalf of foreign nations just because they have bought up our elections and our media outlets. It is absolute absurdity that Donald Trump, who doesn't care about the service members who have been killed, is now trying to use their deaths as a justification for the thing that everybody hates. God, I I really just in moments like this, when Donald Trump is talking about death, can't help but think I cannot wait till it happens to him. Truly, this is just so gross from Donald Trump, pretending that he's waged some perfect war and it's the libs who are freaking out. It's really not that many deaths. It's just gross. It is a terrible thing to post, especially when we are seeing the dignified transfer of service members today, and Donald Trump is talking about, "Well, it's not that many dead. Get off my case." No Americans needed to die for this. There is no point to this war. It's just for Netanyahu. That's it. And I'm disgusted by it. And it's also, of course, so Donald Trump can profit. So, Donald Trump can make a little money. So, Donald Trump can get a couple of little side snacks. That is what he is after. He is after a way to profit in the stock market and by leveraging these negotiations to make sure foreign nations, especially those in the Gulf states, maybe treat him quite nicely. And that is why I thought it was very important that Chris Murphy asked these questions of Pete Hegseth yesterday, not just about the war itself, but also the corruption. >> Iran is adept, more adept than even at the start of the war, at hiding their capabilities or repairing after damage we have done. There's an open report that when it comes to their missile sites along the Strait of Hormuz, 30 of 33 are still operational. >> I wouldn't believe all the open reports, Senator. >> I But I've also heard you say in this hearing that the objectives now seem to be more limited than they were at the outset of the war. That this is about reopening the strait and this is about dismantling their nuclear capability. And the president, of course, has said himself that he thinks Iran has a right to a missile program. Um so, my question is pretty simple. Is it correct that it is no longer a war objective to destroy all of their military capacities? This is what the president has said. Have our goals been simplified to reopening the strait and to getting into a negotiation over a nuclear program? Now, I don't think you have a realistic plan to do either of those things, but I think it's important for us to know what we're funding. Are the objectives much more limited today than they were when you made that statement in March? >> So, I I think the objectives have been consistent and clear from the beginning. And I I would compare I would contrast it to North Korea, where a conventional build-up was used to hide a nuclear capability that eventually evolved to a point where it couldn't be contested. And what Iran continued to do, even after Midnight Hammer, was try to build that conventional capability to dare anyone to stop them from pursuing nuclear weapons. So, getting after their conventional capabilities, missile launchers, defense industrial base, their navy, was all part of an insuring they can't blackmail us into into pursuing a nuclear capability. Laser-focused on Iran will never have a nuclear capability. That's the promise the president has made and that he will keep in every way. >> it's important. It is still a war objective either through military action or through a diplomatic agreement to destroy and disable all of Iran's meaningful military capacities, including their missile program. >> As far as all, when we talked about that uh from the podium for at the outset of this week, we're talking about their defense industrial base. And if you look at the metrics of their ability to make more, uh that it's been overwhelmingly uh destroyed. Not everything, but overwhelmingly. Now, do they have missiles in in underground bunker bunkers because they're a terror state? Sure they do, and we've acknowledged that from the beginning. But their capacity is less today than it's ever been >> They obviously They obviously have significant capacity to effectively disrupt the entirety of the Middle East and oil flows out of the Middle East, and that's not going to change. Um let me ask you one more question. This is a request for supplemental funding because you don't have the funding in your base budget to do what you need to do, which makes questions about the base budget uh relevant. Um there's been a lot of attention, Mr. Secretary, on the modernization of a luxury jet that was gifted to the president by the government of Qatar. Reports suggest that maybe as much as $1 billion in your base funding, an extraordinary amount of money, has been used for an upgrade, and the plane is back in the shop for a second upgrade. As far as I can tell, never before has an administration not made public the amount of money for an upgrade or a construction contract on a presidential airplane. Obviously, we don't need or want disclose the details of that upgrade, but never before have you withheld from Congress and the public the total amount of money. Um I think there are two really important questions here. One, will you make public the amount of money that you are spending to upgrade this plane? And two, can you commit to this Congress and this committee that the president isn't going to take this plane with him when he leaves office? The only thing more insulting to the taxpayers of spending money on a jet they don't need would be for the president to take it with him, to take it out of our military inventory when he leaves office. >> So, the Air Force has he's an incredible job uh making that a capable jet that ultimately but its capabilities are and and and investment are are classified and shouldn't be talked about in public considering the security of the United States. >> I would I would imagine as part of the regular budget process that's something that we would look at. >> And and will you commit that the president will not take the jet >> look at the classification level of certain things that are not devolved for reasons of national security. >> Will you commit that the president will not take this jet with him out of federal inventory when he leaves office? >> It's that's not a decision for necessarily me to make and ultimately I'm we're grateful to have it in the fleet for the Air Force to protect the president of the United States. >> That's a deeply unsatisfying answer to the American public. >> We always have to remember that everything that happens in Donald Trump's administration it can only be only be traced back to corruption. That is the only reason for anything. It's not it's not service. I'm laughing even saying that. It's not protecting Americans. It is corruption. How can I make money off of this? This is what everybody in this administration is thinking all of the goddamn time. It is how can I profit? How can I make money? Or how can I set this up as an opportunity for me to to you know, put on a little show for Donald Trump? That is what is happening right now. That is the way that we got to talk about it and that is the way that we are going to win a fight against this administration on this issue by being more pro pro-war. Jesus Christ, going against this war. They are pro-war. We are anti-war. Make that distinction very clearly and talk about the reason why they are waging this war and it is because they want to make money and they don't care if they kill working class people along the way because that is what they always do. They exploit us in every single way possible including our lives and we're all sick and tired of it.
